The tactical medic is a valuable asset to any tactical team. They provide emergency care to injured parties on-scene resulting in a higher probability for survival. This 4-day course is designed to expose EMT’s / Paramedics to SWAT tactics and methods of operating in a tactical environment in order to flow smoothly with the entry team. Tactical medical techniques differ from standard emergency care due to the high-risk environment. This course will prepare the medic to work in the tactical arena. It will begin with an introduction to tactical medicine and progress through SWAT tactics. It will consist of both lecture and hands-on training. This is a physically demanding, high-intensity course. Attendees should be physically fit and able to work long hours while wearing up to 100 lbs of gear, and able to carry injured parties up and down stairs. In order to attend this course attendees must have the proper medical training background to handle trauma injuries, specifically gunshot wounds.
