Low Light Operations
MCOLES Approved
(2 Days)
All Law Enforcement officers will work at one time or another in low-light conditions. Some are assigned to the night shift for part, or even all of their career. Others working during daylight hours will encounter low-light conditions inside residences and other buildings. Statistics show that more officer-involved-shootings occur in low-light conditions than full-light. The difficulty of dealing with low visibility affects both recognizing any threats and in placing accurate rounds on target. This course provides instruction and skills to deal with threats during low-light conditions. Both flashlight techniques and weapon mounted lights will be covered.
