In today’s world the “Active Shooter” type scenario is becoming more prevalent. The call of an on-going, shots fired situation inside a structure occupied by a large number of innocent victims can happen in any jurisdiction, at any time, in America. Patrol officers are most likely to be the first responders to these critical incidents. Unfortunately, most patrol officers are not equipped, or as thoroughly trained as SWAT personnel. This course starts at the basics of Active Shooter response and progresses to instructional techniques enabling the graduate to return to his or her agency and instruct the appropriate responses to these type incidents.
This course is designed specifically to provide the tools needed for an officer to train other officers in the appropriate first responder tactics to these critical incidents. As this is an Instructor course, the attendees will be required to instruct classroom and practical sessions in order to successfully complete this course.
