John Maxey
John Maxey is a Police Officer with over 12 years of law enforcement experience, with 9+ years assigned to the SWAT Team. Maxey has participated in hundreds of entries, serving as the Pointman and/or Breacher. His additional duties include firearms instructor / range master and in-service trainer for the SWAT Team. He also served a year in the Narcotics Bureau working undercover and was assigned to a raid team. Maxey is an instructor in multiple disciplines including pistol, shotgun, sub-machinegun, assault rifle, CQB, chemical agents, less lethal, and active shooter. He recently completed a 6 1/2 year assignment as a K-9 handler utilizing a crossed trained narcotics dog.
Maxey has served as an instructor at a regional police academy for both basic recruits and advanced police training.
Prior to his law enforcement career Maxey proudly served several years in the United States Marine Corps completing several tours-of-duty in the Desert Shield / Desert Storm theatre of operation.
He is a member of the Michigan Tactical Officers Association, National Tactical Officers Association, North American Police Work Dog Association, and National Criminal Enforcement Association.
Maxey is an outstanding instructor with extensive experience in both real-world operations and instructing police personnel.
